About Fungal Infections
Ringworm (tinea) is caused by a fungal infection on the skin. The affected areas are often red, round, and scaly with a ring-like appearance. The fungus thrives in warm, moist areas of the body thus the infection usually affects the genitals and inner thighs. And it also occurs more frequently in the summer or in warm, wet climates.
