hormonal acne

Facing hormones is the reality of life. Have you ever wondered that your skin is the largest organ of your body and fluctuating hormone level can cause a lot of changes in it? One of these changes can also be ‘acne’. Today we are going to discuss the various symptoms which show that your acne is due to hormonal reasons.

1) You are no longer in your teen years

One of the most obvious reasons is the fact that you are no longer in your teen years. It’s a common fact that most of the teenagers during the phase of puberty go through a lot of hormonal change which can cause an outbreak of acne on their face. Nevertheless, if you are no longer in your teen years you may wanna sit down and contemplate this sudden hormonal change.

2) The chin and jawline are the targeted areas

If you are noticing cysts on the lower part of your face especially the jawline and chin, then I bet its hormonal acne. Since many of the oil glands are located near the chin area; hormonal acne targets that area specifically.

3) It’s recurring in nature

Hormonal acne is infamous for its regular and repetitive cycle. You notice a sudden breakout on your face every once a month and wonder why is God doing this to your skin. There is a huge possibility that your acne pimples are increasing in size every time the breakout happens, this is due to the trapped oil on your pores which increase in size.

4) You are seriously stressed

Your stress hormone ‘cortisol’ can also can a sudden acne breakout on your face. This happens because of cortisol’s ability of affecting and altering other bodily hormones. Having stressful monthly cycles can also be another major reason for the sudden acne flood on your face. This is the reason why you should keep your stress at bay and just let your skin breathe out loud.

5) It’s not blackheads or whiteheads but something more painful

The marks that you have on your face are not blackheads or whiteheads which are on the surface of your face and can be extracted by manual extraction. Hormonal acne cannot be removed through manual extraction and are under the skin’s surface. Another thing to keep in mind is the fact that your acne is going to develop more or less on the same spot of your face making it more chronic in nature.
