Don’t we all remember faces better than names? Yes. Your face is your biggest identity and makes your first impression on anyone you meet.
Even the most beautiful of skin loses its charm with the signs of aging. As you age, your skin starts sagging and pigmentation, fines lines, wrinkles start appearing on your face. Eventually, these skin issues will make you look dull and fatigued. Don’t let these signs of aging define you when you still feel young at heart. A Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT) which is also known as Non-Surgical Facelift is one of the most easy and affordable pigmentation and anti-aging treatments.
Dermatologists use different names for this treatment some of which are Microneedling, Skin Needling, Percutaneous Collagen Induction etc. It is a skin rejuvenation treatment which is minimally invasive as the needles are used to carry out a controlled injury to the skin. Your body then produces new collagen and elastin in order to naturally heal the injury caused by microneedling. These cytokines trigger the process of healing by strengthening the structure of your skin which results into a softer and brighter skin.
Suitable for all skin types
If you wish to improve the elasticity of your skin and fight the signs of aging, you can choose to undergo this treatment irrespective of your skin type. This treatment is also very effective for minimizing the scars and pigmentation.
The Process
At our Skin clinic in Greater Kailash, you can visit us for a consultation session for a better understanding of the treatment. Dr. Nirupama Parwanda will guide you and answer all your questions. The process of microneedling begins with giving anaesthesia to the patient. Then a medical device is evenly rolled on to your skin to create punctures. Depending on the specific requirements of your skin the length of the needles varies. If you need the needles to penetrate deeper then of course the length needs to be longer. Microneedling with deep penetration shows better results because it improves the structure at the deeper layers of your skin.
Duration
The duration of Collagen Induction Therapy depends on how much your skin is damaged or how much area needs to be treated. Therefore, the duration of treatment can be 10 minutes to 1 hour for different patients. Minimum 2 sessions are recommended but for optimum results you can receive up to 5 sessions of the treatment.
You shall start seeing the complete results within 4-8 weeks after the treatment as your body kick-starts the production of collagen.
Recovery
Because of the injury and bruises caused by microneedling, your skin will look pinkish immediately after the payment. In some rare cases, patients may experience minor bleeding. However, the downtime is very quick and within 24-72 hours your skin will recover from these bruises and start looking normal.
Benefits
As we said earlier, this is a non surgical facelift treatment crafted for stimulating the production of elastin fibres and collagen in your body. The benefits include amputation of fine lines, wrinkles and scars etc. causing pigmentation on skin.
Risks and Complications
There are no serious risks or complications related to collagen Induction Therapy. Minor bleeding & bruises due to needling easily subside within a week.
Choosing a Therapist
Although this treatment doesn’t involve any risks but for maximum results you should consult and receive treatment from a therapist/dermatologist who is experienced and suitably trained for the job.
